A ‘Pop-Up Library’ September 2013

My background as a book lover, collector and artist who often has the challenge of transporting books for exhibitions, informed the design of this commissioned work for Blackpool Library Service.  

This piece was made to act as a display system to be used by library staff across eight libraries and in a range of community settings and events. The aims of these being:

• To develop reading and supporting literacy for both children and adults
• Providing information
• Supporting learning and creating informal pathways into learning
• Providing safe, accessible and welcoming community spaces
